Russia Blast: Big explosion in Russian factory, 20 people killed

The local emergency service headquarters said in a post on Telegram that 20 people had died as a result of the emergency incident as of August 18. There are 134 injured, of which 31 patients are in hospitals in Ryazan and Moscow, while 103 patients are undergoing outpatient treatment.

The death toll from an unidentified explosion at a production plant in Russia’s Ryazan region last week has risen to at least 20 and 134 others injured. Pavel Malkov, governor of the Ryazan region, located southeast of Moscow, said on Friday that the incident was caused by a fire in one of the factory’s workshops.

But Russian media reports have not made it clear what caused the fire or what exactly was being produced at the factory. Official Russian sources did not provide any details other than efforts to search for and treat the injured. On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin met his US counterpart Donald Trump in Alaska for talks to end the war.
