Many diseases are not diseases, but natural signs of aging.

A hospital director in Beijing has given five valuable tips for the elderly:

“You are not sick, you are just getting old.”

Many things that you think of as diseases are actually signs of aging of the body.

1. Memory loss
This is not Alzheimer’s, but the brain’s own defense system.

Don’t panic. This is a sign of brain aging, not a disease.
If you just forget where you put your keys or things but find them later, it is not dementia.

2. Slowness or staggering in walking
This is not paralysis, but muscle weakness (degeneration).
The treatment is not medicine, but movement. Walk as much as you can, stay active.

3. Insomnia
This is not a disease, but a change in the brain’s rhythm.
Sleep times change with age.
Repeated use of sleeping pills is dangerous, increasing the risk of falls, memory loss, and brain damage.
The best sleep medicine for seniors is sunlight — get some sun during the day and make a habit of going to bed and waking up at a set time.
4. Body pain
This is not arthritis or rheumatism, but a sign of aging nerves.
This is a normal reaction of the body.
5. Arm, leg, or joint pain
Often seniors say that the whole body hurts — this is usually not due to bone weakness, but due to slowing down of the nerves.
The brain perceives pain signals more — this is called Central Sensitization.
The treatment for this is not pain pills, but exercise, washing feet with warm water, applying warm cloths, and light massage.
This treatment is more effective than medicine.
6. Inconsistent medical reports
Often, physical examination reports show results based on outdated standards, not the disease.

7. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), medical standards should be relaxed for the elderly.
For example, a little bit of high cholesterol is not harmful, but rather a sign of longevity —
because cholesterol is an essential component for hormones and cells.
Blood pressure should also be less than 150/90 mmHg for the elderly, not 140/90.
So do not consider old age as a disease and do not consider physical changes as a loss.
8. Old age is not a disease, but a natural journey of life.
Some advice for the elderly and their children:
1. Remember: not every ailment is a disease.
2. Do not scare the elderly. Do not scare them with reports or advertisements.

3. The greatest duty of children is not just to take their parents to the hospital,
but to walk with them, talk, sit in the sun, eat and spend time with them.
> Old age is not the enemy, but another name for “life”.
Stopping is the real enemy.
🌿 Stay healthy – stay happy 🌿

This message is very important for every elderly person and their children to understand.
Some beautiful words from a Brazilian oncologist (cancer specialist):

1. Old age starts from 60 years and lasts until 80 years.
2. The “fourth period” or extreme old age lasts from 80 to 90 years.
3. “Longevity” starts after 90 and ends with death.
4. The biggest problem of the elderly is loneliness.
Often one of the husband or wife leaves first.
A widow or a single person feels like a burden to their family.
Therefore, it is important to stay in touch with friends, socialize, and communicate.
A few golden rules:
Have control over your own life —
When, where, who to meet, what to eat, what to wear, where to live —
Make these decisions yourself, otherwise you will become a burden on others.

William Shakespeare said:

> “I am always happy!”
Why? Because I don’t expect anything from anyone.
Waiting is always painful.
Problems are never forever, every problem has a solution —
except death.
Six rules of life:

1. Before reacting — take a deep breath.

2. Before speaking — listen.

3. Before criticizing — look at yourself.

4. Before writing — think.

5. Before attacking — stop yourself.

6. Before dying — make life beautiful.
