Chidambaram raised questions on CEC Gyanesh Kumar, said – the job of the commission is not to challenge by giving an ultimatum to file an affidavit or apologize

Chidambaram cited the strong criticism made by three former election commissioners in a post on X. According to him, the former election officials strongly criticized Kumar’s stance and emphasized that if a citizen or stakeholder has made a concrete complaint, then it is the duty of the Election Commission to investigate it rather than challenge the complainant.

Congress leader P Chidambaram launched a new attack on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. He resorted to rare public criticism of three former election monitors, who had called Rahul Gandhi’s handling of vote theft allegations wrong. Chidambaram said that the job of the Election Commission is to investigate serious complaints, and not to challenge the opposition leader by giving an ultimatum to file an affidavit or apologize.
