Disgraced British actress Emma Thompson has revealed that US President Donald Trump proposed to her on a date in 1998 on the day her divorce was finalized.

Emma Thompson was awarded the ‘Leopard Club Award’ for her career achievements during the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

The 66-year-old actress said in an interview, “I was busy shooting the show ‘Primary Colors’ when the phone rang in my trailer. When I picked up the phone, the voice on the other end said, ‘Hello, this is Donald Trump.’”
According to Emma Thompson, at first I thought someone was joking, but later Trump said, ‘I would like you to come to one of my beautiful places and have dinner together.’

The actress said that I responded to the offer politely, ‘It would be a kindness of yours to invite me, I will tell you.’
The actress had to tell in a humorous way during the interview that my divorce decree had been issued that same day and I thought that Trump might be looking for a ‘nice and divorced woman’ whom he could see with him. Trump got my number from my trailer, this is straight-up stalking.
Emma Thompson added, “If I had gone on a date with Trump, maybe the course of American history would have changed.”
It should be remembered that Emma Thompson’s first marriage was to actor Kenneth Branagh in 1989, which ended in 1995.
She later married actor Greg Wise in 2003.
On the other hand, Donald Trump had separated from his second wife Marla Maples at that time and married Melania Trump in 2005.
