Establishing a Greater Israel is My Spiritual Mission; Netanyahu
Prime Minister Netanyahu has described Greater Israel as a historical and spiritual mission, saying that it is the fulfillment of dreams of the past and a guide to the future.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu made this claim in a recent interview in which he described himself as on a “historical and spiritual mission.”
Netanyahu said it is a mission of generations. Generations dreamed of coming here and generations will come here in the future. If you ask me if I am on a historical and spiritual mission, the answer is: absolutely yes.
Netanyahu’s statement has sparked international concern because the concept of “Greater Israel” is considered a symbol of political instability in the Middle East.
“Greater Israel” does not mean just the present Israel but all the territories that Israel conquered in the 1967 Six-Day War.
These areas include East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights, and the Sinai Peninsula, and this concept is linked to the ideas of some extremist Zionist leaders and the ideological founder of the Likud Party, Ze’ev Jabotinsky.
A highlight of this interview was that anchor Sharon Gul also presented Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu with a “talisman”, which allegedly had a map of the Promised Land.
He jokingly said that he did not want to embarrass Netanyahu with more gifts, a reference to the ongoing gift cases against Netanyahu.
Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia said that the Greater Israel statement was a poison for peace efforts in the region.
UN officials also expressed concern, saying that this idea was tantamount to opposing the two-state solution.
Similarly, the European Union also rejected Greater Israel, saying that words like historic mission could justify political expansionism.
Meanwhile, the US State Department did not immediately respond to this statement, but backdoor diplomacy is likely to increase pressure on Netanyahu.
