FLAG-OFF CEREMONY OF MOUNT MUKUT EXPEDITION HELD IN BAREILLY
A mountaineering expedition to Mount Mukut in Garhwal Himalayas region was flagged off by Lieutenant General DG Misra, AVSM, GOC, Uttar Bharat Area on August 26, 2025, from Bareilly. The expedition team, consisting of 15 personnel of 12th Battalion the Jammu & Kashmir Rifles under the aegis of Panchshul Brigade, will attempt to summit Mount Mukut (7045m) in mid- September 2025.

The flag-off ceremony took place at HQ Uttar Bharat Area in Bareilly where Lieutenant General DG Misra interacted with the team members & conveyed his best wishes for a safe & sound expedition.
The team had previously undergone kitting up, fitness training, and a special training capsule in the Kumaon region. They will now proceed to Mana to commence their ascent of Mount Mukut. This expedition is a testament to the rigorous training of the troops of Indian Army and showcases its indomitable courage to conquer an unshaken peak standing tall in the Himalayas. This is a journey of courage, endurance & to uphold the ethos of Warriors of Sun & Snow.
