India: Prominent female journalist Rana Ayub receives death threats
According to Indian media, renowned female journalist Rana Ayub said that she has been threatened through video and phone calls from international numbers.

According to Indian media reports, the person who threatened Rana Ayub gave her home address and threatened to kill her father.
The accused demanded that Rana Ayub write a column on the 1984 Sikh riots, otherwise be ready to face the consequences.
Rana Ayub has filed a complaint at the Kopar Kherane police station in Mumbai.
Cases against Indian journalist Rana Ayub declared as harassment proceedings
The Committee to Protect Journalists, an organization working to protect the rights of journalists, has demanded that the Indian authorities immediately ensure the safety of Rana Ayub and her family.
The statement issued by the Committee to Protect Journalists said that the atmosphere of violence and fear against journalists is unacceptable and the Indian government should ensure the immediate identification and arrest of those responsible.
It should be noted that Rana Ayub has previously been the target of online harassment, interrogation, and threats of death and rape.
