Israel stops supply of syringes for vaccination of children in Gaza, UN
UNICEF, a subsidiary of the United Nations, has said that Israel has stopped the supply of millions of syringes for vaccination of children in Gaza.
According to foreign media, UNICEF said in a statement that the Israeli occupation forces have stopped the supply of essential supplies for children, including milk bottles and syringes for vaccines.
UNICEF said in a statement that despite the fragile ceasefire situation, a vaccination campaign has been launched for children in Gaza, and in this regard, obtaining 1.6 million syringes and a solar-powered refrigerator for vaccination has become a challenge for the organization, as UNICEF’s syringes have not yet been cleared by Israel Customs.
On the other hand, UNRWA Commissioner Philippe Lazzarini said that he told the British Broadcasting Corporation that the UN subsidiary agency is ready for reconstruction and rehabilitation in Gaza.
However, he clarified that his agency in Gaza continues its work despite the ban by the Israeli parliament and that the UN subsidiary agency should be able to freely carry out its duties in Gaza.
