LG Manoj Sinha’s big action in Jammu and Kashmir, 2 employees dismissed on terrorist links

Two government employees have been dismissed in Jammu and Kashmir for having links with terrorists. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, using Article 311 (2) (c), removed a teacher and an assistant stockman from Kupwara from service for being associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. This action is part of the ongoing major campaign against terrorism in the valley.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday dismissed two government employees on charges of terrorist links, citing Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution. The investigation clearly revealed that a teacher in Karnah, Kupwara and an assistant stockman in Keran, Kupwara were working for the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and law enforcement and intelligence agencies had collected incriminating evidence against them.

Earlier this year, in June, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had sacked three government employees who were allegedly working for terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM).

Since assuming office in August 2020, Manoj Sinha has prioritised weakening the terror infrastructure by targeting both active terrorists and their support networks, including overground workers (OGWs) and supporters present in government institutions.

Sinha has ensured aggressive counter-terrorism operations under which security forces killed hundreds of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir between 2020 and 2024 and sacked over 70 OGWs/associates of terrorists from government jobs under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution.

The move comes a month after the devastating Pahalgam terror attack in which terrorists killed around 26 civilians, mostly tourists, in Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on July 28, three terrorists were killed in a fierce gunfight with security forces in Harwan area near Dachigam National Park in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had confirmed that security forces had gunned down three terrorists involved in the killing of civilians during Operation Mahadev.
