The last letter written by Palestinian journalist Maryam Abu Daqa to her son Ghaith, who was martyred in an Israeli attack, has surfaced, in which she wrote about her love, sacrifice and her hopes for her son’s future.

Maryam Abu Daqa began the letter with the words, Ghaith, you are the heart and soul of your mother, don’t cry, just pray for me so that I may find peace.

She advised her son to grow up with honor, faith and success, to work hard, to excel in education and one day live a life as a respected businessman.

Maryam Abu Daqa urged her son to always remember her, live with dignity and remember her mother’s sacrifice with pride.
She wrote that everything I did was only so that you could be happy, find peace and live a successful life.

At the end of his letter, he expressed one last wish to his son that when you grow up and have a daughter, name her Maryam, after your mother who wanted you to be safe.

He advised his son that Ghaith, above all, never give up your prayers, your prayers are your real strength.
