Nepal: Elections to be held on March 5 next year: Interim Prime Minister
According to foreign media reports, the country’s first female Prime Minister took oath of office yesterday, after which she announced that elections will be held on March 5 next year.
According to media reports, the Presidential Office issued a statement after the appointment of the interim Prime Minister, announcing the upcoming elections.

According to the Presidential Office, the President has dissolved the parliament on the recommendation of the interim Prime Minister and set March 5, 2026 as the date for the elections.
It should be noted that the army has taken control of the capital Kathmandu. After last week’s tension, the situation in Nepal has now started to return to normal.
Former prime ministers, cabinet members, parliament and courts have been set on fire.
Some roads in the country are still closed while army patrols are also ongoing, in addition, a curfew is in effect from 7 pm to 6 am.
It should be remembered that 51 people were killed and more than 1,300 injured in protests against a social media ban in Nepal last week.
Those killed in the violent protests included 21 protesters, 9 prisoners, 3 police officers and 18 others.
