According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was on board a chartered plane along with two other passengers (a PSO and an attendant) and two crew members (PIC+FO). As per initial information, none of the passengers on board survived the accident.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Ajit Pawar died in a horrific chartered plane crash in Baramati in Pune district this morning. The tragic accident has shocked not only his family and supporters but the entire nation.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was on board the chartered plane along with two other passengers (one PSO and one attendant) and two crew members (PIC + FO). As per initial information, none of the passengers on the plane survived the accident. Both the pilots and Ajit’s two security guards were also killed in the accident. Images from the crash site show flames and thick smoke rising from the plane, with debris scattered across the area. Pawar was travelling in a private chartered plane. Ajit Pawar’s family, including his cousin Supriya Sule, have reached Baramati after the accident.

Visuals from the scene show flames and smoke rising. Pawar and five others on board were killed in the crash, which occurred when the jet was attempting an emergency landing at Baramati airport. The entire plane has been reduced to a pile of ashes, with images showing it completely shattered and debris strewn everywhere. Pawar was on his way to Baramati to attend a function when the accident took place. Locals rushed to the spot after the accident and started rescue operations.

Ajit Pawar was on his way to Baramati to address four public meetings ahead of the Zilla Parishad elections when the Learjet 45 aircraft chartered from Mumbai crashed. The entire plane was reduced to ashes, with visuals showing it completely shattered and debris strewn everywhere. Initial images showed heavy fire and smoke rising from the Baramati area. Pawar had attended a cabinet meeting in Mumbai on Tuesday and was on his way to Baramati for several meetings related to the upcoming municipal elections in Pune.
