Flooding in California after heavy rains, 2 dead in separate incidents
Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in southern parts of the US state of California, where two people have died in separate incidents.

According to US media reports, floodwaters entered residential areas, while parking lots were completely submerged. In San Bernardino County, mud and debris covered roads, trapping several vehicles and damaging roads in many places.
People trapped on rooftops were rescued by helicopter, while hundreds of residents were evacuated to safety. In view of the situation, authorities have declared a state of emergency in several counties.
More than 160,000 customers lost power on Christmas Eve due to the rain and flooding, prompting authorities to advise residents to stay home.
According to the weather department, another eight inches of rain is expected in various areas, including Los Angeles, over the next four days.
